Ngākau Values at Cargill School
The values we adopted are from the Māori Achievement Collaborative (MAC) and Te Whare Tapu o te Ngākau Māori focus on guiding students to succeed with a strong cultural foundation. They support Māori learners and encourage all children to grow and achieve together with respect and a shared vision.
At Cargill School we believe that the students develop a commitment to each other, foster strong relationships and understanding when they are immersed in these values.
Ngākau are emotions
-
Ngākau Kaitiaki as custodianship
-
Ngākau Manaaki as nurturing
-
Ngākau Māhaki as humility, compassion, generosity, service, sacrifice
-
Ngākau Whānau as kinship
